Omar ibn Yazid asked Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (a.s) about the recitation of supplications in the restroom and reading the Qur'an. Imam (a.s) said: "It is not permitted to recite more than the Ayat al-Kursi or to praise Allah (swt) (by saying) 'All praise is due to Allah (swt), the Lord (azj) of the worlds' while in the restroom."
