Traditions about Ar-Ridha (a.s.)
11 - وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ قالَ: قالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُعَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ: اِشتَدَّ غَضَبُ اللَّهِ وَغَضَبُ رَسُولِهِ عَلَى مَن أَهرَقَ دَمِي، وَآذانِي فِي عِتْرَتِي.
31-11 According to the same documentation, God’s Prophet (S) said, “God’s Wrath and that of his Prophet (S) is encompasses whomever sheds my (offspring’s) blood and bothers the members of my Household.”
12 - وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ قالَ: قالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُعَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ: أَتاني مَلَكٌ فَقالَ: يا مُحَمَّدُ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يُقرِئُكَ السَّلامَ وَيَقُولُ لَكَ: قَدْ زَوَّجتُ فاطِمَةَ مِن عَلِيِّ فَزَوِّجها مِنْهُ وَقَدْ أَمَرتُ شَجَرَةَ طُوبى أَن تَحمِلَ الدُّرَّ وَالياقوتَ وَالمَرجانَ، وَإِنِّ أَهْل السَّماءِ قَدْ فَرَحوا بِذلِكَ وَسَيُولَدُ مِنْهُما وَلَدانِ سَيِّدا شَبابِ أَهْلِ الجَنَّةِ وَبِهِما يُزَيَّنُ أَهْلُ الجَنَّةِ فَأَبشِر يا مُحَمَّدُ فَإِنَّكَ خَيْرَ الأَوَّلِينَ وَالآخَرينَ.
31-12 According to the same documentation, God’s Prophet (S) said, “An angel came to me and said, O Muhammad! Indeed God sends you greetings and tells you, ‘I have married off (the Blessed Lady) Fatima to Ali. Therefore, give her to him in wedlock. I have ordered the ‘Tooba tree to yield pearls, hyacinths and corals. Indeed all the residents of the Heavens are happy on this occasion. Soon they will have two sons who will be the Masters of the Youth in Paradise! The people of Paradise will be adorned by them. O Muhammad! Glad tidings! You are the best of the previous ones, and the best of the later ones.’”
13 - وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ قالَ: قالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُعَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ: سِتَّةٌ مِنَ المُرُوءَةِ؛ ثَلاثَةٌ مِنْها في الحَضَرِ ثَلاثَةٌ مِنْها فِي السَّفَرِ فَأَمَّا الَّتِي فِي الحَضَرِ فَتِلاوَةُ كِتابِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ؛ وَعِمارَةُ مَساجِدِ اللَّهِ، وَاتِّخاذُ الإخوانِ فِي اللَّهِ، وَأَمَّا الَّتِي فِي السَّفَرِ فَبَذلُ الزَّادِ وَحُسنُ الْخُلْقِ وَالمُزاحُ فِي غَيْرِ المَعاصِي.
31-13 According to the same documentation, God’s Prophet (S) said, “Six things are due to manliness: three when you are staying and three for when you are traveling. The ones for when you are staying include reciting the Honorable the Exalted God’s Book, improving God’s mosques and finding friends in the way of God. The ones for when you are traveling include giving charity out of what you have taken along with you and joking in ways not to be committing any sins.”
14 - وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ قالَ: قالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُعَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ: النُّجُومُ أَمَّانٌ لاهْلِ السَّماءِ وَأَهْلُ بَيْتِي أمانٌ لاُمَّتي.
31-14 According to the same documentation, God’s Prophet (S) said, “The stars are the safeguards for the residents of the heavens, and the members of my Household are the safeguards for my nation.”
15 - وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍعَلَيْهِمَاالسَّلاَمُ قالَ: كانَ عَلَى خاتَمِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِىٍعَلَيْهِمَا السَّلاَمُ مَكْتُوبٌ:ظَنّيَ بِاللَّهِ حَسَنٌ وَبالنَّبِّي المُؤْتَمَنِ وَبالوَصِّيِ ذِي المَنَنِ وَبِالحُسَينِ وَالحَسَنِ
31-15 According to the same documentation, Ja’far ibn Muhammad (as-Sadiq) (a.s.) said, “It was written on the seal of Muhammad ibn Ali (a.s.), ‘I am optimistic about God, his trustworthy Prophet (S), his kind Trustee, and Al-Hassan and Al-Husayn.”
16 - وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ عَنْ عَلِىِّ بْنِ أَبِي طالِبٍ عَلَيْهِالسَّلامُ فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: (أَكَّالُونَ لِلسُّحْتِ) قالَ: هُوَالرَّجُلُ الَّذِي يَقضي لاخِيهِ الْحاجَةَ، ثُمَّ يَقْبَلُ هَدِيَّتَهُ.
31-16 According to the same documentation, regarding the Honorable the Exalted God’s words, ‘… of devouring anything forbidden…’ Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s.) said, “This refers to someone who fulfills the needs of his believing brother and later accepts his gift.”
17 - وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ قالَ: قالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُعَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ: الإِيمانُ إِقْرارٌ بِاللِّسانِ، وَمَعْرِفَةٌ بِالقَلبِ، وَعَمَلٌ بِالأَركانِ.
31-17 According to the same documentation, God’s Prophet (S) said, “Faith consists of verbal expression, whole-hearted acceptance and acting accordingly.”
18 - وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ قالَ: قالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُعَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ: يَقُولُ اللَّهُ تَبارَكَ وَتَعالى: يا ابْنِ آدَمَ ما تَنصِفُنِي أَتَحَبَّبُ إِلَيكَ بِالنِّعَمٍ وَتَتَمَقَّتُ إليَّ بِالمَعاصِي، خَيْرِي إِلَيكَ مُنْزَلٌ وَشَرُّكَ إِلَيَّ صاعِدٌ، وَلا يَزالٌ مَلَكٌ كَرِيمٌ يَأتِينِي عَنْكَ فِي كُلِّ يَوْمٍ وَلَيْلَةٍ بِعَمِلٍ قَبِيحٍ مِنْكَ، يا ابْنَ آدَمَ لَوْ سَمِعْتَ وَصفَكَ مِن غَيْرِكَ وَأَنْتَ لا تَعلَمُ مَنِ المَوْصُوفُ لَسارَعتَ إِلى مَقتِهِ.
31-18 According to the same documentation, God’s Prophet (S) said,
"Allah, Blessed and Exalted, says:
O son of Adam, you do not treat Me justly.
I draw near to you with blessings, while you draw near to Me with sins.
My goodness descends upon you, and your evil rises up to Me.
And yet, a noble angel comes to Me from you every day and night with an ugly deed.
O son of Adam, if you were to hear your description from anyone else, not knowing that it was about you, you would rush to despise him."
19 - وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ قالَ: قالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُعَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ: اِختِنوا أَوْلادَكُم يَوْمَ السَّابِعِ؛ فَإِنَّهُ اَطهَرُ أَسرَعُ لِنَباتِ اللَّحْمِ.
31-19 According to the same documentation, God’s Prophet (S) said, “Circumcise your (male) children on the seventh day after birth as this would make them cleaner and speed up their growth.”
20 - وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ قالَ: قالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُعَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ: أَفْضَلُ الأَعمَالِ عِنْدَاللَّه عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِيمانٍ لا شَكَّ فِيهِ؛ وَغَزوٌ لا غُلُولَ فِيهِ وَحَجٌّ مَبرُورٍ؛ وَأَوَّلُّ مَن يَدْخُلُ الجَنَّةَ شَهِيدٌ وَعَبْدٍ مَملُوكٌ أَحْسَنَ عِبَادَةَ رَبِّهِ؛ وَنَصَحَ لِسَيِّدهِ؛ وَرَجُلٌ عَفِيفٌ مُتَعَفِّفٌ ذو عِيالٍ؛ وَأَوَّلُ مَن يَدْخُلُ النَّارَ أَمِيرٌ مُتَسَلِّطٌ لَم يَعدِل؛ وَذو ثَروَةٍ مِنَ المالَ لَمْ يُعطِ المالَ حَقَّهُ؛ وَفَقِيرٌ فَخُورٌ.
31-20 According to the same documentation, God’s Prophet (S) said, “The noblest deeds in the presence of the Honorable the Exalted God are having faith without any doubt, fighting in which there is no greed for booties, and an accepted Hajj pilgrimage. The first people who enter Paradise are the martyrs in the way of God, slaves who kindly obey their master’s orders and are sincere with them, and married men who are chaste. The first people who enter Hell are rulers in command who do not rule with justice, rich men who do not pay what is due on their wealth, and poor people who are arrogant.”
