Reward of shaking hands
أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِیِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفُضَیْلِ عَنْ أَبِی حَمْزَهَ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: أَنْتُمْ فِی تَصَافُحِکُمْ فِی مِثْلِ أُجُورِ الْمُجَاهِدِینَ.
1. My father (rah) said: it was narrated to me by Sa’d b. Abdillah from Ahmad b. Abi Abdillah from Muhammad b. Ali b. Muhammad b. al-Fudhayl from Abi Hamzah from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said: “The reward of shaking hands with each other is equal to the reward of a soldier in the way of Allah.”
Rewards
Reward of saying Bismillaah before meals
حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَیْنِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ یَحْیَی الْخَزَّازِ عَنْ غِیَاثِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِیمَ الدَّارِمِیِّ عَنْ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنْ آبَائِهِ عَنْ أَمِیرِ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ ع قَالَ: مَنْ ذَکَرَ اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَلَی طَعَامٍ لَمْ یُسْأَلْ عَنْ ذَلِکَ الطَّعَامِ أَبَداً.
1. It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. al-Hassan who said it was narrated to me by Sa’d b. Abdillah from Muhammad b. al-Hussain from Muhammad b. Yahya al-Khazaz from Ghiyath b. Ibrahim al-Darrami from Ja’far from his father from his forefathers from Ameer al-Mumineen (a.s.) who said: “One who utters the name of Allah before meals will never be questioned about that bounty of Allah.”
Rewards
Reward of feeding a hungry person
وَ بِهَذَا الْإِسْنَادِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِیمَ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِیسَی عَنْ سَمَاعَهَ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: مَنْ أَشْبَعَ کَبِداً جَائِعاً وَجَبَتْ لَهُ الْجَنَّهُ.
2. And from the previous chain from Ibrahim b. Ishaq from Muhammad b. Khalid from Uthman b. Isa from Sama’a from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said: “Paradise is made obligatory for one who feeds a hungry person.”
Rewards
Reward of enjoying water
أَبِی ره عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ یَعْقُوبَ بْنِ یَزِیدَ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ یَرْفَعُهُ إِلَی أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: مَنْ تَلَذَّذَ بِالْمَاءِ فِی الدُّنْیَا لَذَّذَهُ اللَّهُ مِنْ أَشْرِبَهِ الْجَنَّهِ.
1. Abi (rah) from Sa’d b. Abdillah from Ya’qub b. Yazid from Ibn Fadhal who raised it to Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said: “One who enjoys tasting water in the world, Allah will make him enjoy pure wine in Paradise.”
Rewards
Reward of giving Sadaqah on Friday
أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی أَبُو مُحَمَّدٍ الواشی [الْوَابِشِیُ] وَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بُکَیْرٍ وَ غَیْرُهُ قَدْ رَوَاهُ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: کَانَ أَبِی ع أَقَلَّ أَهْلِ بَیْتِهِ مَالًا وَ أَعْظَمَهُمْ مَؤُنَهً قَالَ وَ کَانَ یَتَصَدَّقُ کُلَّ جُمُعَهٍ بِدِینَارٍ وَ کَانَ یَقُولُ الصَّدَقَهُ یَوْمَ الْجُمُعَهِ تُضَاعَفُ لِفَضْلِ الْجُمُعَهِ عَلَی غَیْرِهِ مِنَ الْأَیَّامِ.
1. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) said, “My father was having less money and had more expenses then too he used to give Sadaqah every Friday. He used to say that the reward of Sadaqah on Friday is two-fold, for Friday is better than all other days.”

Reward of helping sad people
حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارُ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنْ زَیْدٍ الشَّحَّامِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع یَقُولُ مَنْ أَعَانَ أَخَاهُ الْمُؤْمِنَ اللَّهْفَانَ عِنْدَ جَهْدِهِ فَنَفَّسَ کُرْبَتَهُ وَ أَعَانَهُ عَلَی نَجَاحِ حَاجَتِهِ کَانَتْ لَهُ بِذَلِکَ اثْنَتَانِ وَ سَبْعُونَ رَحْمَهً لِأَفْزَاعِ یَوْمِ الْقِیَامَهِ وَ أَهْوَالِهِ.
1. It is narrated that Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) said, “One who helps his brother who is thirsty and sorrowful, solves his problem and helps in fulfilling his desires the former will be granted seventy-two bounties, which will keep him safe from fear on the Day of Judgment.”

Reward of loving one’s brothers
أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِیٍّ عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِیزِ عَنْ جَمِیلِ بْنِ دَرَّاجٍ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: مِنْ فَضْلِ الرَّجُلِ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ مَحَبَّتُهُ لِإِخْوَانِهِ وَ مَنْ عَرَّفَهُ اللَّهُ مَحَبَّهَ إِخْوَانِهِ أَحَبَّهُ اللَّهُ وَ مَنْ أَحَبَّهُ اللَّهُ وَفَّاهُ أَجْرَهُ یَوْمَ الْقِیَامَهِ.
1. My father (rah) said: it was narrated to me by Muhammad b. Ahmad b. Khalid from Muhammad b. Ali from Umar b. Abd al-Aziz from Jameel b. Darraj from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said: “The excellence of a man near Allah is in loving his brother. Allah has put the love of brothers in his heart. Allah loves him and will grant him full reward on the Day of Judgment.”
Rewards
Reward of fulfilling a desire of a person with whom Allah is pleased
أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ یَحْیَی عَنِ الْحُسَیْنِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ التَّاجِرِ عَنْ عَلِیِّ بْنِ مَهْزِیَارَ عَنْ فَضَالَهَ بْنِ أَیُّوبَ عَنْ إِسْمَاعِیلَ بْنِ أَبِی زِیَادٍ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ آبَائِهِ عَنْ أَمِیرِ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ ع قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص مَنْ تَمَنَّی شَیْئاً وَ هُوَ لِلَّهِ رِضًی لَمْ یَخْرُجْ مِنَ الدُّنْیَا حَتَّی یُعْطَاهُ.
1. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) narrates from his predecessors, who narrate from Amirul Momineen (a.s.), who narrates that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said, “If someone fulfils a desire of a person with whom Allah is pleased the former will not go from this world till his own desire is fulfilled.”
Rewards
Reward of meeting a Muslim
حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارُ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ عَنْ بَکْرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَزْدِیِّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع یَقُولُ مَا زَارَ مُسْلِمٌ أَخَاهُ فِی اللَّهِ إِلَّا نَادَاهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ أَیُّهَا الزَّائِرُ طِبْتَ وَ طَابَتْ لَکَ الْجَنَّهُ.
1. It is narrated that Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) said, “One who goes to meet a Muslim brother, the Almighty Allah will call out to him, ‘O one who is going for visiting! You have become pure and your reward is pure Paradise.”
Rewards
Reward of slaughtering an animal and distributing its meat among the poor after having built a house
أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَلِیُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِیمَ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنِ النَّوْفَلِیِّ عَنِ السَّکُونِیِّ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنْ آبَائِهِ ع قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص مَنْ بَنَی مَسْکَناً فَذَبَحَ کَبْشاً سَمِیناً وَ أَطْعَمَ لَحْمَهُ الْمَسَاکِینَ ثُمَّ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ ادْحَرْ عَنِّی مَرَدَهَ الْجِنِّ وَ الْإِنْسِ وَ الشَّیَاطِینِ وَ بَارِکْ لِی فِی بِنَائِی أُعْطِیَ مَا سَأَلَ.
1. My father (rh) narrated to me, he said: Ali bin Ibrahim, from his father, from an-Nawfali, from as-Sakuni, from Imam Ja’far bin Muhammad (a.s.), who narrates from his predecessors that the Messenger of Allah (sw) said: “Whoever builds a house, slaughters a fat ram, distributes its meat among the poor and recites the following supplication: Allaahummadhar 'anni maradatal jinni wal insi wash shayaateeni wa baarik lee fee binaa'ee (O Allah, repel from me the harm of jinn, humans, and devils, and bless me in my building) will get whatever he wishes.”
