Rewards

Reward of Qasr prayers while travel

حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِدْرِیسَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ هِلَالٍ عَنْ عِیسَی بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْهَاشِمِیِّ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنْ جَدِّهِ عَنْ عَلِیِّ بْنِ أَبِی طَالِبٍ ع قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص خِیَارُکُمُ الَّذِینَ إِذَا سَافَرُوا قَصَّرُوا وَ أَفْطَرُوا.

1. Amirul Momineen (a.s.) narrates that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said, “The best among you are those who offer Qasr prayer and do not observe fast during travel.”

Rewards

Reward of offering Friday prayers during travel

أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنْ زُرْعَهَ عَنْ سَمَاعَهَ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِیهِ ع قَالَ: أَیُّمَا مُسَافِرٍ صَلَّی الْجُمُعَهَ رَغْبَهً فِیهَا وَ حُبّاً لَهَا أَعْطَاهُ اللَّهُ أَجْرَ مِائَهِ جُمُعَهٍ لِلْمُقِیمِ.

1. My father (rah) said: it was narrated to me by Abdillah b. Ja’far from Ahmad b. Abi Abdillah from his father from Zur’a from Sama’a from Ja’far b. Muhammad from his father (a.s.) who said: “If a traveler among you offers Friday Prayer for the sake of devotion and love of Almighty, Allah grants him reward equal to one hundred non-travelers’ Friday Salaat.”

Rewards

Reward of offering Salaat in congregation

حَدَّثَنِی أَبِی ره بِإِسْنَادٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع إِنَّ الصَّلَاهَ فِی الْجَمَاعَهِ تَفْضُلُ عَلَی صَلَاهِ الْفَرْدِ ثلاث [بِثَلَاثٍ] وَ عِشْرِینَ دَرَجَهً تَکُونُ خَمْساً وَ عِشْرِینَ صَلَاهً.

1. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) says, “The excellence of congregational prayers is twenty three times that of prayer offered alone and this one congregational prayer is equal to twenty five prayers.”

حَدَّثَنِی أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَلِیُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِیمَ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنِ النَّوْفَلِیِّ عَنِ السَّکُونِیِّ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ آبَائِهِ ع قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص مَنْ أَتَی الْجَمَاعَهَ إِیمَاناً وَ احْتِسَاباً اسْتَأْنَفَ الْعَمَلَ.

2. Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) narrates from his predecessors that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said, “For one who offers Salaat in congregation with faith and for seeking divine rewards, a new record of his deeds would be created (blotting out all sins he has committed before).”

حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بِإِسْنَادِهِ عَنْ مُعَلَّی بْنِ خُنَیْسٍ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ یَحْیَی الْعَطَّارُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِیمَ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حَمَّادٍ الْأَنْصَارِیِّ عَنِ الْمُعَلَّی بْنِ خُنَیْسٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع یَقُولُ مَنْ وَافَقَ مِنْکُمْ یَوْمَ الْجُمُعَهِ فَلَا یَشْتَغِلَنَّ بِشَیْ ءٍ غَیْرِ الْعِبَادَهِ فَإِنَّ فِیهَا تُغْفَرُ للعباده [لِلْعِبَادِ] وَ تَنْزِلُ الرَّحْمَهُ.

3. The narrator heard Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) say, “One who gets a Friday, should not get involved in anything except worship because people are forgiven and mercy is showered on this day.”

Rewards

Reward of rising up for Salaat

حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ عَنِ الْحُسَیْنِ وَ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ أَبَانٍ عَنِ الْحُسَیْنِ بْنِ سَعِیدٍ عَنْ أَیْمَنَ بْنِ مُحْرِزٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفُضَیْلِ عَنْ أَبِی حَمْزَهَ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: مَا مِنْ عَبْدٍ مِنْ شِیعَتِنَا یَقُومُ إِلَی الصَّلَاهِ إِلَّا اکْتَنَفَهُ بِعَدَدِ مَنْ خَالَفَهُ مَلَائِکَهٌ یُصَلُّونَ خَلْفَهُ یَدْعُونَ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ لَهُ حَتَّی یَفْرُغَ مِنْ صَلَاتِهِ.

1. It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. al-Hassan from al-Hussain and al-Hassan b. Aban from al-Hussain b. Sa’eed from Ayman b. Muhriz from Muhammad b. al-Fudhayl from Abi Hamzah from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said: “None of our Shias gets up for prayer except that he is surrounded by angels equal to the number of enemies around him and they pray behind him and supplicate to Allah, the Mighty and the Sublime for him till he finishes his prayer.”

Reward of reciting Durood on Muhammad (s.a.w.s.) and his progeny on Friday after Asr prayers

أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِیسَی الْیَقْطِینِیِّ عَنْ زَکَرِیَّا الْمُؤْمِنِ عَنِ ابْنِ نَاجِیَهَ عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَیَابَهَ عَنْ نَاجِیَهَ قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ ع إِذَا صَلَّیْتَ الْعَصْرَ یَوْمَ الْجُمُعَهِ فَقُلِ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَی مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَوْصِیَاءِ الْمَرْضِیِّینَ بِأَفْضَلِ صَلَوَاتِکَ وَ بَارِکْ عَلَیْهِمْ بِأَفْضَلِ بَرَکَاتِکَ وَ السَّلَامُ عَلَیْهِمْ وَ عَلَی أَرْوَاحِهِمْ وَ أَجْسَادِهِمْ وَ رَحْمَهُ اللَّهِ وَ بَرَکَاتُهُ- فَإِنَّ مَنْ قَالَهَا فِی دُبُرِ الْعَصْرِ کَتَبَ اللَّهُ لَهُ مِائَهَ أَلْفِ حَسَنَهٍ وَ مَحَا اللَّهُ عَنْهُ مِائَهَ أَلْفِ سَیِّئَهٍ وَ قَضَی لَهُ بِهَا مِائَهَ أَلْفِ حَاجَهٍ وَ رَفَعَ لَهُ بِهَا مِائَهَ أَلْفِ دَرَجَهٍ.

1. Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s.) says, “After you pray the Asr prayers on Friday recite as follows: Allaahumma s’alli a’laa muh’ammadinw wa aali muh’ammadin alaa aus’iyaa-il mursaleena bi-afz”ali s’alawaatika wa baarik wa baarika a’laihim bi-afz”ali barakaatika was salaamu a’laihim wa a’laa arwaah’ihim wa ajsaamidihim wa rah’matullaahi wa barakaatuh. For one who recites this after Asr, Allah writes for him a hundred thousand rewards, wipes out a hundred thousand sins. Fulfills a hundred thousand wishes of him and increases his position by a hundred thousand levels.”

Reward of reciting Surah Hamd, Surah Tauheed and Muawwazatain seven times, Ayatal Kursi, Ayat-e-Sakhr and the last verse of Surah Baraat

أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنِ ابْنِ الْمُغِیرَهِ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: مَنْ قَرَأَ بَعْدَ الْجُمُعَهِ حِینَ یَنْصَرِفُ الْحَمْدَ مَرَّهً وَ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ سَبْعاً وَ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ سَبْعاً وَ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ سَبْعاً وَ آیَهَ الْکُرْسِیِّ وَ آیَهَ السُّخْرَهِ وَ آخِرَ بَرَاءَهَ لَقَدْ جاءَکُمْ رَسُولٌ مِنْ أَنْفُسِکُمْ إِلَی آخِرِهَا کَانَتْ لَهُ کَفَّارَهُ مَا بَیْنَ الْجُمُعَهِ إِلَی الْجُمُعَهِ.

1. My father (rah) said: it was narrated to me by Sa’d b. Abdillah from Ahmad b. Muhammad from his father from Ibn al-Mughira from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said: “One who recites after the conclusion of Friday Prayer, Surah Hamd once, Surah Tauheed, Surah Qul a-oo’dhu birabbil falaq and Surah Qul a-oo’dhu birabbinnaas seven times and Ayatal Kursi, Ayat-e- Sakhr and the last verse of Surah Baraat once it would be a compensation of his sins from that Friday to next.”

Rewards

One more reward of above recitations

أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَلِیُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِیمَ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنِ النَّوْفَلِیِّ عَنِ السَّکُونِیِّ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ آبَائِهِ ع قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص مَنْ قَرَأَ دُبُرَ صَلَاهِ الْجُمُعَهِ فَاتِحَهَ الْکِتَابِ مَرَّهً وَ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ وَ فَاتِحَهَ الْکِتَابِ مَرَّهً وَ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ وَ فَاتِحَهَ الْکِتَابِ مَرَّهً وَ قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ سَبْعَ مَرَّاتٍ لَمْ یَنْزِلْ بِهِ بَلِیَّهٌ وَ لَمْ تُصِبْهُ فِتْنَهٌ إِلَی الْجُمُعَهِ الْآخَرِ فَإِنْ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِی مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّهِ الَّتِی حَشْوُهَا بَرَکَهٌ وَ عُمَّارُهَا الْمَلَائِکَهُ مَعَ نَبِیِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ وَ أَبِینَا إِبْرَاهِیمَ جَمَعَ اللَّهُ بَیْنَهُ وَ بَیْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ إِبْرَاهِیمَ ع فِی دَارِ السَّلَامِ.

1. Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s.) narrates that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said, “One who recites after the conclusion of Friday Prayer, Surah Hamd once, Surah Qul a-oo’dhubirabbil falaq seven times, then Surah Hamd once and Surah Qul huwallaahu ah’ad seven times, then Surah Hamd once and Surah Qul a-oo’dhubirabbin Naas, no calamity would befall him and he won’t be involved in any mischief. Further if he says: Allaahummaj a’lnee min ahlil jannatillatee h’ashwuhaa barakatunw wa u’mmaaruhal malaa-ikatu ma-a’ nabiyyeenaa muh’ammadinw wa abeenaa ibraaheem Allah would keep him in Daarus Salaam (Paradise) along with Muhammad (s.a.w.s.) and Ibrahim (a.s.).”

Reward of walking towards Salaat and learning Quran

أَبِی ره عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ إِدْرِیسَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ السِّنْدِیِّ عَنْ عَلِیِّ بْنِ الْحَکَمِ عَنْ سَیْفِ بْنِ عَمِیرَهَ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ ظَرِیفٍ عَنِ الْأَصْبَغِ بْنِ نُبَاتَهَ قَالَ قَالَ أَمِیرُ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ ع إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ لَیَهُمُّ بِعَذَابِ أَهْلِ الْأَرْضِ جَمِیعاً حَتَّی لَا یُحَاشِیَ مِنْهُمْ أَحَداً إِذَا عَمِلُوا بِالْمَعَاصِی وَ اجْتَرَحُوا السَّیِّئَاتِ فَإِذَا نَظَرَ إِلَی الشِّیبِ نَاقِلِی أَقْدَامِهِمْ إِلَی الصَّلَاهِ وَ الْوِلْدَانِ یَتَعَلَّمُونَ الْقُرْآنَ رَحِمَهُمْ فَأَخَّرَ ذَلِکَ عَنْهُمْ.

1. Amirul Momineen (a.s.) says, “Whenever people of the earth commit sins or get involved in wrong deeds, the Almighty Allah intends to send down His chastisement on the people of the world. However when He sees elderly people walking towards Salaat and young children learning Quran, He feels pity on them and postpones it.”
