1. Hasan bin Ali Washshaa says that he asked Imam Ridha (a.s.), “Is the reward of offering Prayer in Masjidun Nabawi and Masjidul Haraam equal? He replied, “Yes, and the prayers recited between them is equal to 2.000 prayers recited elsewhere.”

Reward of offering Prayer in Masjid-e-Kufa
حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِدْرِیسَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِیٍّ عَنْ أَبِی حَمْزَهَ عَنْ أَبِی بَصِیرٍ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ سَمِعْتُهُ یَقُولُ نِعْمَ الْمَسْجِدُ مَسْجِدُ الْکُوفَهِ صَلَّی فِیهِ أَلْفُ نَبِیٍّ وَ أَلْفُ وَصِیٍّ وَ مِنْهُ فارَ التَّنُّورُ وَ فِیهِ نُجِرَتِ السَّفِینَهُ مَیْمَنَتُهُ رِضْوَانُ اللَّهِ وَ وَسَطُهُ رَوْضَهٌ مِنْ رِیَاضِ الْجَنَّهِ وَ مَیْسَرَتُهُ مَکْرٌ. فَقُلْتُ لِأَبِی مَا الْمَعْنِیُّ بِقَوْلِهِ قَالَ یَعْنِی مَنَازِلَ الشَّیْطَانِ
1. Abu Baseer says that he heard Imam Ja’far Sadiq (a.s.) saying, “Masjid-e-Kufa is a real mosque for one thousand prophets and one thousand Wasis have offered Salaat in this mosque. During the time of Nuh (a.s.), water started coming out from this place and his Ark was built over here only. Its right side possesses the pleasure of Allah. Its middle has a garden of Paradise and its left has Makr.” He asked, “What do you mean by Makr?” Imam (a.s.) replied, “It implies the buildings of Shaitaan.”
أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی سَعْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ سَعِیدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ الرِّضَا ع یَقُولُ الصَّلَاهُ فِی مَسْجِدِ الْکُوفَهِ فَرْداً أَفْضَلُ مِنْ سَبْعِینَ صَلَاهً فِی غَیْرِهِ جَمَاعَهً.
2. Muhammad bin Sinaan says that he heard Imam Ridha (a.s.) say, “The reward of offering a prayer in Masjid-e-Kufa alone is better than the reward of offering seventy prayers in congregation in other mosques.”
حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَلِیِّ بْنِ مَاجِیلَوَیْهِ ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَمِّی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِی الْقَاسِمِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْبَرْقِیِّ عَنْ أَبِیهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنِ الْمُفَضَّلِ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: صَلَاهٌ فِی مَسْجِدِ الْکُوفَهِ تَعْدِلُ أَلْفَ صَلَاهٍ فِی غَیْرِهِ مِنَ الْمَسَاجِدِ.
3. It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. Ali b. Majluwayh (rah) who said it was narrated to me by my uncle Muhammad b. Abi al-Qasim from Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Abi Abdillah al-Barqi from his father from Muhammad b. Sinan from al-Muffadhal b. Umar from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said: “A single prayer of Masjid-e- Kufa is equal to one thousand prayers of other mosques.”

Reward of offering Salaat in Baitul Muqaddas, Masjid-e-Azam, Masjid-e-Qabeelah and Masjid-e-Sooq
أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِدْرِیسَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ الرَّازِیِّ عَنِ النَّوْفَلِیِّ عَنِ السَّکُونِیِّ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ آبَائِهِ عَنْ عَلِیٍّ ع قَالَ: صَلَاهٌ فِی الْبَیْتِ الْمُقَدَّسِ تَعْدِلُ أَلْفَ صَلَاهٍ وَ صَلَاهٌ فِی مَسْجِدِ الْأَعْظَمِ مِائَهُ صَلَاهٍ وَ صَلَاهٌ فِی مَسْجِدِ الْقَبِیلَهِ خَمْسٌ وَ عِشْرُونَ صَلَاهً وَ صَلَاهٌ فِی مَسْجِدِ السُّوقِ اثْنَتَیْ عَشْرَهَ صَلَاهً وَ صَلَاهُ الرَّجُلِ فِی بَیْتِهِ وَحْدَهُ صَلَاهٌ وَاحِدَهٌ.
1. My father (rah) said: it was narrated to me by Ahmad b. Idris from Muhammad b. Ahmad from Muhammad b. Ahmad al-Razi from al-Nawfali from al-Sakuni from Ja’far b. Muhammad from his forefathers from Ali (a.s.) who said: “A single Salaat of Baitul Muqaddas is equal to one thousand prayers. A single prayer of Masjid-e-Azam is equal to one hundred prayers. A single prayer of Masjid-e-Qabeelah is equal to twenty-five prayers and a single prayer of Masjid-e-Sooq is equal to twelve prayers. A Salaat offered in one’s house is equal to a single prayer only.”

Reward of sweeping the mosque floor
حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُوسَی قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْعَطَّارُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ زِیَادٍ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ بَشَّارٍ عَنْ عُبَیْدِ اللَّهِ الدِّهْقَانِ عَنْ عَبْدِ الْحَمِیدِ عَنْ أَبِی إِبْرَاهِیمَ ع قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ص مَنْ کَنَسَ الْمَسْجِدَ یَوْمَ الْخَمِیسِ لَیْلَهَ الْجُمُعَهِ فَأَخْرَجَ مِنْهُ التُّرَابَ قَدْرَ مَا یُذْرَی فِی الْعَیْنِ غُفِرَ لَهُ.
1. It is narrated from Imam Musa Kadhim (a.s.) that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) said, “If one sweeps the floor of a mosque on a Thursday night and cleans the quantity of dirt equal to the Antimony put in one’s eye then too Allah forgives him.”

Reward of Calling out the Azaan
حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الصَّفَّارُ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْحُسَیْنِ بْنِ أَبِی الْخَطَّابِ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ بَشِیرٍ الْعَرْزَمِیِّ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: أَطْوَلُ النَّاسِ أَعْنَاقاً یَوْمَ الْقِیَامَهِ الْمُؤَذِّنُونَ.
1. It was narrated to me by Muhammad b. al-Hassan (rah) who said it was narrated to me by Muhammad b. al-Hassan al-Saffar from Muhammad b. al-Hussain b. Abi al-Khattab from Ja’far b. Basheer al-’Arzami from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said: “The most elevated people on the Day of Judgment will be those who used to call out the Azaan.”

1. Imam Muhammad Baqir (a.s.) says, “One who recites Azaan for seven years with an intention of seeking reward from Allah would appear on the Day of Judgment without any sin to his name.”

Reward of reciting Azaan in a Muslim city for a year
أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِدْرِیسَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِیٍّ عَنْ مُصْعَبِ بْنِ سَلَّامٍ التَّیْمِیِّ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ ظَرِیفٍ عَنْ أَبِی جَعْفَرٍ ع قَالَ: مَنْ أَذَّنَ سَبْعَ سِنِینَ مُحْتَسِباً جَاءَ یَوْمَ الْقِیَامَهِ وَ لَا ذَنْبَ لَهُ.
1. My father (rah) said: it was narrated to me by Ahmad b. Idris from Muhammad b. Ali from Mus’ab b. Salam al-Taymi from Sa’d b. Dharif from Abi Ja’far (a.s.) who said: “Paradise becomes incumbent on one who recites Azaan for a year in a city having Muslim population.”

أَبِی ره قَالَ حَدَّثَنِی عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْحِمْیَرِیُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِیسَی عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنْ جَمِیلِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ الْمُغِیرَهِ الْبَصْرِیِّ عَنْ أَبِی عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ع قَالَ: مَنْ سَمِعَ الْمُؤَذِّنَ یَقُولُ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّداً رَسُولُ اللَّهِ فَقَالَ مُصَدِّقاً مُحْتَسِباً وَ أَنَا أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَ أَنَّ مُحَمَّداً رَسُولُ اللَّهِ أَکْتَفِی بِهَا عَنْ کُلِّ مَنْ أَبَی وَ جَحَدَ وَ أُعِینُ بِهَا مَنْ أَقَرَّ وَ شَهِدَ إِلَّا غَفَرَ اللَّهُ لَهُ بِعَدَدِ مَنْ أَنْکَرَ وَ جَحَدَ وَ بِعَدَدِ مَنْ أَقَرَّ وَ شَهِدَ.
1. My father (rah) said: it was narrated to me by Abdillah b. Ja’far al-Himyari from Muhammad b. Isa from al-Hassan b. Mahbub from Jameel b. Salih from al-Harith b. al-Mughira al-Basri from Abi Abdillah (a.s.) who said: “One who hears the Muezzin say: Ash-hadu allaa ilaaha illallaahu wa ash-hadu anna muh’ammadar rasoolullaah and testifies it for the sake of seeking reward from Allah by saying Wa anaa ash-hadu allaa ilaaha illallaahu wa anna muh’ammadar rasoolullaahi aktafee bihimaa a’n kulli man abaa wa jah’ada wa uee’nu bihimaa man aqarra wa shahid Almighty Allah forgives him with the forgiveness equal to those who testify in this way and those who don’t.”
