Chapter on What Has Been Narrated Regarding Performing Hajj Before Gaining Knowledge

1119. hadíth

Umar ibn Udhaynah narrated: I wrote to Abu Abdullah (a.s) asking about a man who performed Hajj without knowing or recognizing this [truthful] matter. Then Allah (swt) blessed him with understanding and adherence to it. Is the Hajj of Islam still obligatory upon him? Imam (a.s) replied: "He has fulfilled the obligation of Allah (swt), the Exalted, but performing Hajj again is more beloved to me."
