Sama’a ibn Mehran asked Imam Jafar ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq (a.s) about wearing a sword during prayer that has glue or leather (adhesive substances, such as glue made from animal parts) on it. Imam (a.s) replied: "There is no problem as long as you do not know that it is from a dead (non-slaughtered) animal”.
