1321. hadíth Majlisī: ضعيف على المشهور

8ـ أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الأشْعَرِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْفُضَيْلِ عَنْ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) يَقُولُ إِذَا قَالَ الرَّجُلُ لأخِيهِ الْمُؤْمِنِ أُفٍّ خَرَجَ مِنْ وَلايَتِهِ وَإِذَا قَالَ أَنْتَ عَدُوِّي كَفَرَ أَحَدُهُمَا وَلا يَقْبَلُ الله مِنْ مُؤْمِنٍ عَمَلاً وَهُوَ مُضْمِرٌ عَلَى أَخِيهِ الْمُؤْمِنِ سُوءاً.

8. Abu Ali al-Ash’ari has narrated from Muhammad ibn Hassan from Muhammad ibn Ali from Muhammad ibn al-Fudayl from abu Hamza who has said the following: “I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying, ‘When a man says to his believing brother (in belief), ‘Uff (an expression of slight disappointment) he has moved out of his guardianship. If he says, ‘You are my enemy,’ one of them becomes an unbeliever. Allah does not accept the good deeds of any believer while he hides in him evil for his believing brother (in belief).”’

9ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ عَنْ رِبْعِيٍّ عَنِ الْفُضَيْلِ عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ مَا مِنْ إِنْسَانٍ يَطْعُنُ فِي عَيْنِ مُؤْمِنٍ إِلا مَاتَ بِشَرِّ مِيتَةٍ وَكَانَ قَمِناً أَنْ لا يَرْجِعَ إِلَى خَيْرٍ.

9. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Sinan from Hammad ibn ‘Uthman from Rib’i from al-Fudayl from abu Ja’far (a.s.) who has said the following: “Abu Ja’far (a.s.) has said, ‘Whoever reviles a believer face-to-face dies in the worst condition and deserves not to find any goodness.’”

Accusation and Evil Guessing

1323. hadíth Majlisī: حسن كالصحيح

1ـ عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عُمَرَ الْيَمَانِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ إِذَا اتَّهَمَ الْمُؤْمِنُ أَخَاهُ انْمَاثَ الإيمَانُ مِنْ قَلْبِهِ كَمَا يَنْمَاثُ الْمِلْحُ فِي الْمَاءِ.

1. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Hammad ibn ‘Isa from Ibrahim ibn ‘Umar al-Yamani from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “‘When a believer accuses his brother (in faith), belief melts away in his heart just as salt melts away in water.’”

2ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ حَازِمٍ عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) يَقُولُ مَنِ اتَّهَمَ أَخَاهُ فِي دِينِهِ فَلا حُرْمَةَ بَيْنَهُمَا وَمَنْ عَامَلَ أَخَاهُ بِمِثْلِ مَا عَامَلَ بِهِ النَّاسَ فَهُوَ بَرِي‏ءٌ مِمَّا يَنْتَحِلُ.

2. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from certain individuals of his people from al-Husayn ibn Hazim from Husayn ibn ‘Umar ibn Yazid from his father who has said the following: “I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying, ‘Whenever one accuses his brother (in belief) in his religious matters, religious relations will cease to exist between them. Whoever deals with his brother (in belief) just as he deals with other people, his religious relations (religious brotherhood) toward him all comes apart.’”

1325. hadíth Majlisī: مرسل

3ـ عَنْهُ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَمَّنْ حَدَّثَهُ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ الْمُخْتَارِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) فِي كَلامٍ لَهُ ضَعْ أَمْرَ أَخِيكَ عَلَى أَحْسَنِهِ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَكَ مَا يَغْلِبُكَ مِنْهُ وَلا تَظُنَّنَّ بِكَلِمَةٍ خَرَجَتْ مِنْ أَخِيكَ سُوءاً وَأَنْتَ تَجِدُ لَهَا فِي الْخَيْرِ مَحْمِلاً.

3. It is narrated from him (narrator of the Hadith above) from his father from those whom he has mentioned (in his book) from al-Husayn ibn al-Mukhtar from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “Amir al-Mu’minin, Ali ibn abu Talib (a.s.) has said in one of his speeches, ‘Deal with the issues related to your brother (in belief) with best interpretations until you receive overwhelming evidence to support the facts. Do not act on (evil) guesswork about a word that has come from your brother (in belief) as long as you can manage to find a place for it in goodness.’”

Insincerity Toward One’s Brother (in Belief)

1326. hadíth Majlisī: مجهول

1ـ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ عَنْ أَبِي حَفْصٍ الأعْشَى عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ سَمِعْتُهُ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ الله (صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وآلِه) مَنْ سَعَى فِي حَاجَةٍ لأخِيهِ فَلَمْ يَنْصَحْهُ فَقَدْ خَانَ الله وَرَسُولَهُ.

1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from al- Hassan ibn Ali ibn al-Nu’man from abu Hafs al-‘A’sha’ who has said the following: “I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying, ‘The Messenger of Allah has said, “Whoever works to help his brother (in belief), but is not sincere, has breached his trust with Allah and the Messenger of Allah.’”

1327. hadíth Majlisī: موثق

2ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ سَمَاعَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) يَقُولُ أَيُّمَا مُؤْمِنٍ مَشَى فِي حَاجَةِ أَخِيهِ فَلَمْ يُنَاصِحْهُ فَقَدْ خَانَ الله وَرَسُولَهُ.

2. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from ‘Uthman ibn ‘Isa from Sama’a who has said the following: “I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying, ‘Any believer who works to help his brother (in belief) but is not sincere enough has breached his trust with Allah and the Messenger of Allah.’”

1328. hadíth Majlisī: مجهول

3ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ وَأَبُو عَلِيٍّ الأشْعَرِيُّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ جَمِيعاً عَنْ إِدْرِيسَ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ عَنْ مُصَبِّحِ بْنِ هِلْقَامَ قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَصِيرٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) يَقُولُ أَيُّمَا رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا اسْتَعَانَ بِهِ رَجُلٌ مِنْ إِخْوَانِهِ فِي حَاجَةٍ فَلَمْ يُبَالِغْ فِيهَا بِكُلِّ جُهْدٍ فَقَدْ خَانَ الله وَرَسُولَهُ وَالْمُؤْمِنِينَ قَالَ أَبُو بَصِيرٍ قُلْتُ لأبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) مَا تَعْنِي بِقَوْلِكَ وَالْمُؤْمِنِينَ قَالَ مِنْ لَدُنْ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِلَى آخِرِهِمْ.

3. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid and abu Ali al-Ash’ari from Muhammad ibn Hassan all from Edris ibn al-Hassan from Musabbih ibn Hilqam who has said that abu Basir narrated to him the following: “I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying, ‘Whoever of our people is asked for help by any of his brothers (in belief) and does not do his best to help, has breached his trust with Allah, the Messenger of Allah and the believers.’ Abu Basir has said that he then asked Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) ‘What do you mean by “The believers”?’ The Imam said, ‘It applies to Amir al-Mu’minin, Ali ibn abu Talib (a.s.) as well as ‘A’immah (Leaders with Divine Authority) to the very last of them,.”’

1329. hadíth Majlisī: ضعيف

4ـ عَنْهُمَا جَمِيعاً عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ أَبِي جَمِيلَةَ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) يَقُولُ مَنْ مَشَى فِي حَاجَةِ أَخِيهِ ثُمَّ لَمْ يُنَاصِحْهُ فِيهَا كَانَ كَمَنْ خَانَ الله وَرَسُولَهُ وَكَانَ الله خَصْمَهُ.

4. It is narrated from both of them from Muhammad ibn Ali from abu Jamilah who has said the following: “I heard Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) saying, ‘Whoever walks to help his brother (in belief) but not with enough sincerity is like one who has breached his trust with Allah and the Messenger of Allah, and Allah will be his foe.’”

1330. hadíth Majlisī: مجهول

5ـ عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِهِ عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ حَازِمٍ عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الله (عَلَيهِ السَّلام) قَالَ مَنِ اسْتَشَارَ أَخَاهُ فَلَمْ يَمْحَضْهُ مَحْضَ الرَّأْيِ سَلَبَهُ الله عَزَّ وَجَلَّ رَأْيَهُ.

5. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Khalid from certain individuals of his people from Husayn ibn Hazim from Husayn ibn ‘Umar ibn Yazid from his father from Abu ‘Abdillah (a.s.) who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.) has said, ‘If anyone consults his brother (in belief) and he does not help him with sincere opinions, Allah, the Majestic, the Glorious, takes away his good opinion (ability to form good opinions).”’
