Al-Amālī

15 - حدثنا أحمد بن محمد بن إسحاق، قال: أخبرني إسماعيل بن إبراهيم الحلواني، قال: حدثنا أحمد بن منصور بزرج، قال: حدثنا هدية بن عبد الوهاب، قال: حدثنا سعد بن عبد الحميد بن جعفر، قال: حدثنا عبد الله بن زياد اليمامي، عن عكرمة بن عمار، عن إسحاق بن عبد الله بن أبي طلحة، عن أنس بن مالك، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): نحن بنو عبد المطلب سادة أهل الجنة: رسول الله، وحمزة سيد الشهداء، وجعفر ذو الجناحين، وعلي، وفاطمة، والحسن، والحسين، والمهدي (1).

Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Ishaq narrated to us. He said: Isma`il b. Ibrahim al-Hilwani informed me. He said: Ahmad b. Mansur Bazraj narrated to us. He said: Hadiya b. `Abd al-Wahhab narrated to us. He said: Sa`d b. `Abd al-Hamid b. Ja`far narrated to us. He said: `Abdullah b. Ziyad al-Yamami narrated to us from `Ikrama b. `Ammar from Ishaq b. `Abdullah b. Abi Talha from Anas b. Malik. He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: We, the Children of `Abd al-Muttalib, are the masters of the people of Paradise: The Messenger of Allah, Hamza the Master of Martyrs, Ja`far the one of two wings, `Ali, Fatima, al-Hasan, al-Husayn, and the Mahdi.

16 - حدثنا علي بن عبد الله الوراق، قال: حدثنا سعد بن عبد الله بن أبي خلف الاشعري، قال: حدثنا الهيثم بن أبي مسروق النهدي، عن الحسين بن علوان، عن عمرو بن خالد، عن سعد بن طريف، عن الاصبغ بن نباتة، قال: قال أمير المؤمنين (عليه السلام): سمعت رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله)، يقول: أنا سيد ولد آدم، وأنت يا علي والائمة من بعدك سادة أمتي، من أحبنا فقد أحب الله، ومن أبغضنا فقد أبغض الله، ومن والانا فقد والى الله، ومن عادانا فقد عادى الله، ومن أطاعنا فقد أطاع الله، ومن عصانا فقد عصى الله (2).

`Ali b. `Abdullah al-Warraq narrated to us. He said: Sa`d b. `Abdullah b. Abi Khalaf al-Ash`ari narrated to us. He said: Al-Haytham b. Abi Masruq al-Nahdi narrated to us from al-Husayn b. `Ilwan from Amr b. Khalid from Sad b. Turayf from Al-Asbagh b. Nubata. He said: Amir al-Mu'minin (as) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (s) say: I am the master of the Children of Adam, and you, `Ali, and the Imams from your descendants, are the masters of my Nation. Whoever loves us has loved Allah, and whoever hates us has hated Allah, and whoever aligns with us has aligned with Allah, and whoever opposes us has opposed Allah, and whoever obeys us has obeyed Allah, and whoever disobeys us has disobeyed Allah.

17 - حدثنا أبي (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا عبد الله بن جعفر الحميري، عن أحمد بن محمد بن عيسى، عن أبيه، عن يونس بن عبد الرحمن، عن منصور الصيقل، عن الصادق جعفر بن محمد، عن آبائه (عليهم السلام)، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): لما أسري بي إلى السماء عهد إلي ربي في علي ثلاث كلمات، فقال: يا محمد. فقلت: لبيك ربي. فقال: إن عليا إمام المتقين، وقائد الغر المحجلين، ويعسوب المؤمنين (3).

My father (rh) narrated to us. He said: `Abdullah b. Ja`far al-Himyari narrated to us from Ahmad b. Muhammad b. `Isa from his father from Yunus b. `Abd al-Rahman from Mansur al-Sayqal from al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad from his forefathers (as). He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: When I was taken up to heaven, my Lord implored me with three phrases. He said: “O Muhammad!” So, I said: “I am at Your service, my Lord.” So, He said: “Surely, `Ali is the Imam of the Godfearing, the Leader of the Shining Believers, and the Chief of the Believers.”

18 - حدثنا أحمد بن زياد بن جعفر الهمداني (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا علي ابن إبراهيم بن هاشم، عن جعفر بن سلمة الاهوازي، عن إبراهيم بن محمد الثقفي، قال: حدثنا أحمد بن عمران بن محمد بن أبي ليلى الانصاري، قال: حدثنا الحسن بن عبد الله، عن خالد بن عيسى الانصاري، عن عبد الرحمن بن أبي ليلى، رفعه، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): الصديقون ثلاثة: حبيب النجار، مؤمن آل ياسين، الذي يقول: (اتبعوا المرسلين * اتبعوا من لا يسئلكم أجرا وهم مهتدون) (4)، وحزقيل مؤمن آل فرعون، وعلي بن أبي طالب، وهو أفضلهم (1).

Ahmad b. Ziyad b. Ja`far al-Hamadani (rh) narrated to us. He said: `Ali b. Ibrahim b. Hashim narrated to us from Ja`far b. Salama al-Ahwazi from Ibrahim b. Muhammad al-Thaqafi. He said: Ahmad b. `Imran b. Muhammad b. Abi Layla al-Ansari narrated to us. He said: Al-Husayn b. `Abdullah narrated to us from Khalid b. `Isa al-Ansari from `Abd al-Rahman b. Abi Layla, who raises it. He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: There are three saints (siddiqun): (1) Habib al-Najjar, the believer of Al Yasin, who says, “Follow the messengers, follow those who are guided and do not ask you for reward” (36:20-21). (2) Hizqil, the believer of the Family of Pharaoh. (3) `Ali b. Abi Talib, and he is the best of them.

19 - وبهذا الاسناد، عن إبراهيم بن محمد الثقفي، قال: أخبرني محمد ابن علي، قال: حدثنا العباس بن عبد الله عن عبد الرحمن بن الاسود، عن عبد الرحمن بن مسعود، عن علي (عليه السلام)، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): أحب أهل بيتي إلي وأفضل من أترك بعدي علي بن أبي طالب (2).

By this isnad from Ibrahim b. Muhammad al-Thaqafi. He said: Muhammad b. `Ali informed me. He said: Al-`Abbas b. `Abdullah narrated to us from `Abd al-Rahman b. Al-Aswad from `Abd al-Rahman b. Mas`ud from `Ali (as). He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: The most beloved of my Ahl al-Bayt to me and the best [person] I leave behind is `Ali b. Abi Talib.

20 - وبهذا الاسناد، عن إبراهيم بن محمد الثقفي، قال: حدثنا الحكم بن سليمان، قال: حدثنا علي بن هاشم، عن عمرو بن حريث الاشجعي، عن برذعة بن عبد الرحمن، عن أبي الخليل، عن سلمان (رحمة الله عليه)، قال: دخلت على رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) عند الموت، فقال: علي بن أبي طالب أفضل من تركت بعدي (3).

By this isnad from Ibrahim b. Muhammad al-Thaqafi. He said: Al-Hakam b. Sulayman narrated to us. He said: `Ali b. Hashim narrated to us from `Amr b. Harith al-Ashja`i from Bardha`a b. `Abd al-Rahman from Abi'l Khalil from Salman (rh). He said: I visited the Messenger of Allah (s) when he was dying, and he said: `Ali b. Abi Talib is the best [person] I leave behind.

21 - حدثنا أبي (رحمه الله)، قال: حدثنا عبد الله بن الحسن المؤدب، عن أحمد بن علي الاصبهاني، عن إبراهيم بن محمد الثقفي، قال: حدثنا عبد الرحمن بن أبي هاشم، قال: حدثنا يحيى بن الحسين، عن سعد بن طريف، عن الاصبغ بن نباتة، عن سلمان الفارسي (رحمة الله عليه)، قال: سمعت رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) يقول يا معشر المهاجرين والانصار، ألا أدلكم على ما إن تمسكتم به لن تضلوا بعدي أبدا؟ قالوا: بلى، يا رسول الله. قال: هذا علي أخي ووصيي ووزيري ووارثي وخليفتي إمامكم، فأحبوه لحبي، وأكرموه لكرامتي، فإن جبرئيل أمرني أن أقوله لكم (4).

My father (rh) narrated to us. He said: `Abdullah b. al-Hasan al-Mu'addab narrated to us from Ahmad b. `Ali al-Isfahani from Ibrahim b. Muhammad al-Thaqafi. He said: `Abd al-Rahman b. Abi Hashim narrated to us. He said: Yahya b. al-Husayn narrated to us from Sa`d b. Turayf from al-Asbagh b. Nubata from Salman al-Farisi (rh). He said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (s) say: O Muhajirin and Ansar! Shall I not guide you to that by which, if you held onto it, you would never go astray after me? They said: Of course, O Messenger of Allah. He said: This `Ali is my brother, my deputy, my vizier, my inheritor, my vicegerent (khalifa), and your Imam. So, greet him as you greet me and honour him as you honour me, for Gabriel commanded me to say this to you.

22 - حدثنا محمد بن الحسن بن أحمد بن الوليد (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا أحمد بن علوية، عن إبراهيم بن محمد، قال: حدثنا المسعودي، قال: حدثنا علي بن القاسم الكندي، عن سعد بن طالب، عن عثمان بن القاسم الانصاري، عن زيد بن أرقم، قال: قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): ألا أدلكم على ما إن استدللتم به لن تهلكوا ولن تضلوا؟ قالوا: بلى، يا رسول الله. قال: إن إمامكم ووليكم علي بن أبي طالب، فوازروه وناصحوه وصدقوه، فإن جبرئيل أمرني بذلك (1).

Muhammad b. al-Hasan b. Ahmad b. al-Walid (ra) narrated to us. He said: Ahmad b. `Alawiyya narrated to us from Ibrahim b. Muhammad. He said: Al-Mas`udi narrated to us. He said: Ali b. al-Qasim al-Kindi narrated to us from Sa`d b. Talib from `Uthman b. al-Qasim al-Ansari from Zayd b. Arqam. He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: Shall I not guide you to that by which, if you follow it, you will not be destroyed or misguided? They said: Of course, O Messenger of Allah. He said: Surely, your Imam and your wali is `Ali b. Abi Talib. So, consult him, refer to him, and believe in him, for Gabriel commanded me of this.

23 - حدثنا محمد بن عمر الحافظ البغدادي بمدينة السلام، قال: حدثنا محمد بن القاسم بن زكريا أبو عبد الله والحسين بن علي السكوني (2)، قالا: حدثنا محمد بن الحسن السكوني (3)، قال: حدثنا صالح بن أبي الاسود، عن أبي المطهر المذاري (4)، عن سلام الجعفي، عن أبي جعفر الباقر (عليه السلام)، عن أبي برزة، عن النبي (صلى الله عليه وآله)، قال: إن الله عز وجل عهد إلي في علي عهدا. قلت: يا رب بينه لي. قال: اسمع. قلت: قد سمعت، قال: إن عليا راية الهدى، وإمام أوليائي، ونور من أطاعني، وهو الكلمة التي ألزمتها المتقين، من أحبه أحبني، ومن أطاعه أطاعني (5).

Muhammad b. `Umar al-Hafith al-Baghdadi narrated to us in the City of Peace (Baghdad). He said: Muhammad b. al-Qasim b. Zakariyya Abu `Abdillah and al-Husayn b. `Ali al-Sukuni narrated to us. They said: Muhammad b. al-Hasan al-Sukuni narrated to us. He said: Salih b. Abi'l Aswad narrated to us from Abi'l Mathar al-Mudhari from Salam al-Ju`fi from Abi Ja`far al-Baqir (as) from Abi Burza from the Prophet (s). He said: Surely, Allah made a covenant to me regarding `Ali. I said: “O Lord! Reveal it to me.” He said: “Listen.” I said: “I am listening.” He said: “Surely, `Ali is the Banner of Guidance, the Imam of My friends, the light of those who obey Me, and the word that the Godfearing stick to. Whoever loves him has loved Me, and whoever obeys him has obeyed Me.”

24 - حدثنا محمد بن الحسن بن أحمد بن الوليد (رضي الله عنه)، قال: حدثنا محمد بن الحسن الصفار، عن أحمد بن محمد بن عيسى، عن محمد بن سنان، عن أبي مالك الحضرمي، عن إسماعيل بن جابر، عن أبي جعفر الباقر (عليه السلام) - في حديث طويل - يقول فيه: إن الله تبارك وتعالى لما أسرى بنبيه (صلى الله عليه وآله)، قال له: يا محمد، إنه قد انقضت نبوتك، وانقطع أكلك، فمن لامتك من بعدك؟ فقلت: يا رب، إني قد بلوت خلقك فلم أجد أحدا أطوع لي من علي بن أبي طالب. فقال عز وجل: ولي يا محمد، فمن لامتك؟ فقلت: يا رب إني قد بلوت خلقك فلم أجد أحدا أشد حبا لي من علي بن أبي طالب. فقال عز وجل: ولي يا محمد، فأبلغه أنه راية الهدى، وإمام أوليائي، ونور لمن أطاعني (6).

Muhammad b. al-Hasan b. Ahmad b. al-Walid (ra) narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. al-Hasan al-Saffar narrated to us from Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Isa from Muhammad b. Sinan from Abi Malik al-Hadrami from Ismail b. Jabir from Abi Ja`far al-Baqir (as). He said in a long hadith: Surely, when Allah made His Prophet (s) ascend, He said to him: O Muhammad! Your prophethood has been completed and you have been cut away from food, so who will be for your Nation after you? So, I said: O Lord! I have tested Your creation, and I did not find anyone who loved me more intensely than `Ali b. Abi Talib. So, He said: Me too, O Muhammad, so inform him that he is the Banner of Guidance, the Imam of My friends, and a light for whoever obeys Me.
