Traditions about Ar-Ridha (a.s.)
141 - وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ عَنْ عَلِىِّ بْنِ أَبِي طالِبٍ عَلَيْهِالسَّلامُ قالَ: قالَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ: عَلَيْكُمْ بِالزَّيتِ فَكُلهُ وَادَّهِن بِهِ، فَإِنَّ مَن أَكَلَهُ وَادَّهَنَ بِهِ لَمْ يَقرَبهُ الشَّيْطانُ أَرْبَعِينَ يَوْماً.
31-141 According to the same documentation, Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s.) narrated that God’s Prophet (S) said, “I advise you to take olive oil and rub it on your hair. Satan will not approach anyone who eats olive oil or wipes it on his hair for forty days.”
142 - وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ عَنْ عَلِىِّ بْنِ أَبِي طالِبٍ عَلَيْهِالسَّلامُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ قالَ لِعَلِيٍ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ: عَلَيْكَ بِالمِلحِ، فَإِنَّهُ شِفاءُ مِن سَبْعِينَ داءٌ أَدناهَا الجُذامُ وَالبَرَصُ وَالجُنُونُ.
31-142 According to the same documentation, Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s.) said that God’s Prophet (S) told Ali (a.s.), “I advise you to take salt since it is a cure for seventy illnesses, the least of them being insanity, elephantiasis and leprosy.”
143 - وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ عَنْ عَلِىِّ بْنِ أَبِي طالِبٍ عَلَيْهِالسَّلامُ قالَ: إِن النَّبِيَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ أَتِيَّ بِبِطِيخٍ وَرُطَبٍ، فَأَكَلَ مِنْهُما، وَقالَ: هذانِ الأَطيَبانِ.
31-143 According to the same documentation, Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s.) said, “They brought watermelon and dates for the Prophet (S). He ate of both of them and said, ‘These are delightful.’”
144 - وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ قالَ: قالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُعَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ: مَن بَدَأَ بِالمِلحِ أَذْهَبَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ سَبْعِينَ داءً أَقَلَّهُ الجُذامُ.
31-144 According to the same documentation, God’s Prophet (S) said, “God will remove seventy illnesses from whoever starts his meals with salt - the least of them is leprosy.”
145 - وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ عَنْ الحَسَنِ، عَنْ عَلِيٍعَلَيْهِمَاالسَّلاَمُ أَنَّهُ سُمّى حَسَناً يَوْمَ السّابِعِ وَاشتُقَّ مِن اسمِ الحَسَنِ حُسَيْناً، وَذَكَرَ أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ بَيْنَهُما إِلّا الحَمْلُ.
31-145 According to the same documentation, on the authority of Al-Hassan ibn Ali (a.s.), on the authority of Ali (a.s.), “They named my son Al-Hassan on the seventh day (after his birth). Al-Husayn’s name was derived from Al-Hassan. There was not any more than one period of pregnancy difference between their birth.”
146- وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍّ عَلَيْهِمَا السَّلاَمُ قالَ: السَّبتُ لَنا، وَالأَحَدُ لِشِيعَتِنا، وَالإِثنَينِ لِبَني أُمَيَّةَ وَالثُّلاثاءُ لَشيعَتِهِم، وَالأَرْبَعاءُ لِبَني العَبَّاسِ وَالْخَمِيسُ لِشيعَتِهِم وَالجُمُعَةُ لِسائِرٍ النَّاسِ جَمِيعاً، وَلَيْسَ فِيهِ سَفَرٌ، قالَ اللَّهُ تَعالى: (فَإِذا قُضِيَتِ الصَّلاةُ فَانْتَشِرُوا فِي الأَرْضِ وَابْتَغُوا مِنْ فَضْلِ اللَّهِ) يَعْنِي يَوْمَ السَّبتِ.
31-146 According to the same documentation, Ja'far ibn Muhammad (al-Sadiq) (as) said: "Saturday is for us, Sunday is for our Shia, Monday is for the Banu Umayya, Tuesday is for their Shia, Wednesday is for the Banu Abbas, Thursday is for their Shia, and Friday is for all people, and there is no travel on that day. Allah, the Most High, has said: 'So when the prayer is finished, then spread through the land and seek the bounty of Allah,' referring to Saturday."
147 - وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ عَنْ عَلِىِّ بْنِ الحُسَيْنِعَلَيْهِمَاالسَّلاَمُ أَنَّهُ قالَ: إِنَّ النَّبِيَ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ أَذَّنَ فِي أُذُنِ الحَسَنِ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ بِالصَّلاةِ يَوْمَ وُلِدَ.
31-147 According to the same documentation, on the authority of Ali ibn Al-Husayn (a.s.), “On the day on which Al-Hassan (a.s.) was born, the Prophet (S) said the general call to prayer (the ‘Azan) in his ear.”
148 - وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍعَلَيْهِمَاالسَّلاَمُ قالَ: دَعا أَبي بِدُهنٍ لِيَدَّهِنَّ بِهِ [رَأسَهُ] فَلَمَّا ادَّهَن بِهِ قُلْتُ: مَا الَّذِي ادَّهَنتَ؟ قالَ: إِنَّهُ البَنَفسَجُ، قُلْتُ: وَما فَضْلُ البَنَفسَجِ؟ قالَ حَدَّثَنى أَبي عَنْ جَدِّي الحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِىٍّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلاَمُ قالَ: قالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ: فَضْلُ البَنَفسَجِ عَلَى الأَدهانِ كَفَضلِ الإِسْلامِ عَلى سائِرِ الأَديانِ.
31-148 According to the same documentation, on the authority of Ja’far ibn Muhammad (a.s.), “My father asked for some anointment and rubbed it on his face and head. I asked him what it was. He (a.s.) said, “It was viola.” I asked him, “What makes viola the best?” He (a.s.) said, “My father (a.s.) quoted on the authority of my grandfather Al-Husayn ibn Ali (a.s.), on the authority of his father (a.s.) that God’s Prophet (S) said, ‘Viola is the best anointment as Islam is the best religion.’”
149 - وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ عَنْ عَلِىِّ بْنِ أَبِي طالِبٍ عَلَيْهِالسَّلامُ أَنَّهُ قالَ: لا دِينَ لِمَنْ دانَ بِطاعَةِ الَمخلُوقِ فى مَعصِيَةِ الخالِقِ.
31-149 According to the same documentation, Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s.) said, “There is no religion for those who comply with created beings while disobeying the Creator.”
150 - وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ عَنْ عَلِىِّ بْنِ أَبِي طالِبٍ عَلَيْهِالسَّلامُ أَنَّهُ قالَ: كُلُوا الرُّمّانَ بِشَحمِهِ فَإِنَّهُ دِباغُ المِعدَةِ.
31-150 According to the same documentation, Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s.) said, “Eat pomegranate seeds along with the white membrane for it cleanses the stomach."
