Traditions about Ar-Ridha (a.s.)
101 - وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ قالَ: قالَ عَلِىُّ بْنُ أَبِي طالِبٍعَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ: صلّى بِنا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ صَلاةَ السَّفَرِ، فَقَرَأَ فِي الأُوْلَى الجَحدَ وَفِي الثَّانِيَةَ التَّوحيدَ، ثُمَّ قالَ: قَرَأتُ لَكُمْ ثُلْثَ الْقُرْآنِ وَرُبعَهُ.
31-101 According to the same documentation, it is narrated that Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s.) said, “God’s Prophet (S) prayed with us while we were on a journey and recited the Chapter ‘Al-Jahd in the first unit and the Chapter ‘Al-Tawhid in the second unit of the prayer and said, ‘I recited a third of the Quran and a fourth of the Qur’an for you.’”
102 - وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ قالَ: قالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُعَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ: مَن قَرَأَ سُورَة أَربَعَ مَرَّاتٍ، كانَ كَمَنْ قَرَأَ الْقُرْآنَ كُلَّهُ.
31-102 According to the same documentation, God’s Prophet (S) said, “Whoever recites the Chapter (of the Qur’an) starting with ‘When the earth is shaken to her (utmost) convulsion…’ four times, it is as if he has recited the whole Qur’an.”
103 - وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ قالَ: قالَ عَلِىُّ بْنِ أَبِي طالِبٍعَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ: لا اعتِكافَ إِلاّ بِالصَّومِ.
31-103 According to the same documentation, Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s.) said, “No one can go into seclusion in the mosque without fasting.”
104 - وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ قالَ: قالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنينَ عَلِىُّ بْنُأَبِي طالِبٍ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ: أَكمَلُكُم إِيماناً أحسَنُكُم خُلُقاً.
31-104 According to the same documentation, the Commander of the Faithful Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s.) said, “Those of you who have the best temper are the ones with the most perfect faith.”
105 - وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ قالَ: قالَ عَلِىُّ بْنِ أَبِي طالِب عَلَيْهِالسَّلامُ: مِن كُنُوزِ البِرِّ إِخفاءُ العَمَلِ، وَالصَّبرُ عَلَى الرَّزايا وَكِتمانُ المَصائِبِ.
31-105 According to the same documentation, Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s.) said, “Hiding one’s good deeds, perseverance in the face of hardships and not disclosing one’s calamities are all parts of the treasure of goodness.”
106 - وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ قالَ: قالَ عَلِىُّ بْنِ أَبِي طالِب عَلَيْهِالسَّلامُ: حُسنُ الخُلقِ خَيْرُ قَرِينٍ.
31-106 According to the same documentation, Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s.) said, “Being good-tempered is the best companion.”
107 - وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ قالَ: قالَ عَلِىُّ بْنِ أَبِي طالِب عَلَيْهِالسَّلامُ: سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ عَنْ أَكْثَرِ ما يُدْخَلُ بِهِ الجَنَّة، قالَ: تقوَى اللَّهِ وَحُسنُ الخُلقِ [و سُئِلَ عَنْ أَكْثَرِ ما يُدْخَلُ بِهِ النَّارَ الأَجوَفانِ: البَطنُ وَالفَرَجُ].
31-107 According to the same documentation, Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s.) said, “God’s Prophet (S) was asked what were the main reasons for entry into Paradise. He (a.s.) replied, “Fearing God and having a good temper.” He (a.s.) was asked what were the main reasons for entry into the Fire. He (a.s.) replied, “Stomach and sex.”
108 - وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ قالَ: قالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُعَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ: أقرَبُكُمْ مِنِّي مَجْلِساً يَوْمَ القِيامَةِ أَحْسَنُكُم خُلقاً، وَخَيْرُكُم [خَيرُكُم] لأَهلِهِ.
31-108 According to the same documentation, God’s Prophet (S) said, “Those of you closer in rank to me on the Resurrection Day are the ones who are good-tempered and who treat their families well.”
109 - وَبِهذَا الإِسنادِ قالَ: قالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُعَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ: أَحْسَنُ النَّاسِ إِيماناً أَحْسَنُهُم خُلُقاً أَلطَفُهُم بِأهلِه، وَأَنَا ألطَفُكُم بِأَهلِي.
31-109 According to the same documentation, God’s Prophet (S) said, “The people with the best faith are those who are good-tempered and treat their families with kindness. I am the best of you in treating my family with kindness.”
110 - وَبِهذَا الإسناد قالَ: قالَ عَلِىِّ بْنُ أَبِي طالِبٍ فِي قَوْلَاللَّه عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: (ثُمَّ لَتُسْئَلُنَّ يَوْمَئِذٍ عَنِ النَّعِيمِ) قالَ: الرُّطَبُ وَالماءُ البارِد.
31-110 According to the same documentation, Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s.) said the following regarding the Honorable the Exalted God’s words, ‘Then, shall ye be questioned that Day about the joy (ye indulged in!).’ He (a.s.) said, “It is dates and cold water.”
