Chapter on the Legal Punishment for Slanderous Accusation

109. hadíth

وَ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ عَلَيْهِ اَلسَّلاَمُ: "لاَ حَدَّ عَلَى مَجْنُونٍ حَتَّى يُفِيقَ وَ لاَ عَلَى اَلصَّبِيِّ حَتَّى يُدْرِكَ وَ لاَ عَلَى اَلنَّائِمِ حَتَّى يَسْتَيْقِظَ".

Imam Ali ibn Abi Talib (a.s) said: "There is no legal punishment upon a mad person until they regain sanity, nor upon a child until they reach maturity, nor upon a sleeping person until they wake up."
