1281. hadíth Majlisī: موثق

مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ فَضَّالٍ عَنِ ابْنِ الْقَدَّاحِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ أُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) بِطَعَامٍ حَارٍّ فَقَالَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ لَمْ يُطْعِمْنَا النَّارَ نَحُّوهُ حَتَّى يَبْرُدَ فَتُرِكَ حَتَّى بَرَدَ .

4. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad from ibn Faddal from ibn al-Qaddah who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has stated this Hadith. ‘Once, hot food was brought to the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause. He (the Messenger of Allah) said, ‘Allah, most Majestic, most Glorious, is not the one to feed us what is similar to fire. Wait, until it becomes cold’, thus, it was left to become cold.’”

1282. hadíth Majlisī: موثق

أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنِ ابْنِ مَحْبُوبٍ عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ يَعْقُوبَ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ خَالِدٍ قَالَ حَضَرْتُ عَشَاءَ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) فِي الصَّيْفِ فَأُتِيَ بِخِوَانٍ عَلَيْهِ خُبْزٌ وَ أُتِيَ بِقَصْعَةِ ثَرِيدٍ وَ لَحْمٍ فَقَالَ هَلُمَّ إِلَيَّ هَذَا الطَّعَامَ فَدَنَوْتُ فَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ فِيهِ وَ رَفَعَهَا وَ هُوَ يَقُولُ أَسْتَجِيرُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ النَّارِ أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ النَّارِ أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ النَّارِ هَذَا مَا لَا نَصْبِرُ عَلَيْهِ فَكَيْفَ النَّارُ هَذَا مَا لَا نَقْوَى عَلَيْهِ فَكَيْفَ النَّارُ هَذَا مَا لَا نُطِيقُهُ فَكَيْفَ النَّارُقَالَ وَ كَانَ ( عليه السلام ) يُكَرِّرُ ذَلِكَ حَتَّى أَمْكَنَ الطَّعَامُ فَأَكَلَ وَ أَكَلْنَا مَعَهُ .

5. Ahmad ibn Muhammad has narrated from ibn Mahbub from Yunus ibn Ya’qub from Sulayman ibn Khalid who has said the following: “I once attended dinner with abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), in the summer and they brought a table-spread with bread inside it and a bowl of Tharid (bread made in pieces in broth) and meat. He (the Imam) said, ‘Come for food.’ I went close. He (the Imam) placed his hand in it and pulled back saying, ‘I seek refuge with Allah against fire, I seek protection with Allah against fire, I seek protection with Allah against fire. We cannot bear this, how the fire will be, we cannot bear with this, how the fire will be, we cannot bear with this, how the fire will be.’ He (the Imam) kept repeating it until it became possible to eat the food. He (the Imam) ate and we ate with him.’”

Making the Bones Bare

1283. hadíth Majlisī: ضعيف

عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْهَيْثَمِ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ صَنَعَ لَنَا أَبُو حَمْزَةَ طَعَاماً وَ نَحْنُ جَمَاعَةٌ فَلَمَّا حَضَرْنَا رَأَى رَجُلًا يَنْهَكُ عَظْماً فَصَاحَ بِهِ فَقَالَ لَا تَفْعَلْ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ عَلِيَّ بْنَ الْحُسَيْنِ ( عليه السلام ) يَقُولُ لَا تَنْهَكُوا الْعِظَامَ فَإِنَّ فِيهَا لِلْجِنِّ نَصِيباً وَ إِنْ فَعَلْتُمْ ذَهَبَ مِنَ الْبَيْتِ مَا هُوَ خَيْرٌ مِنْ ذَلِكَ .

1. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from Muhammad ibn Ali from Muhammad ibn al-Haytham from his father who has narrated the following: “Abu Hamzah once made food for us and we were in a group and when we were all present, a man made a bone bare and took out its marrow. He (the Imam) said to him aloud, ‘Do not do so because I heard Ali ibn al-Husayn, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, saying, “Do not remove bone marrows and make bare; in it there is a share for al-Jinn. If you remove it things better than this will go away from the house. 5 ”

About Fish

1284. hadíth Majlisī: مجهول

مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جَنَاحٍ عَنْ مَوْلًى لِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ دَعَا بِتَمْرٍ فَأَكَلَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ مَا بِي شَهْوَةٌ وَ لَكِنِّي أَكَلْتُ سَمَكاً ثُمَّ قَالَ مَنْ بَاتَ وَ فِي جَوْفِهِ سَمَكٌ لَمْ يُتْبِعْهُ بِتَمَرَاتٍ أَوْ عَسَلٍ لَمْ يَزَلْ عِرْقُ الْفَالِجِ يَضْرِبُ عَلَيْهِ حَتَّى يُصْبِحَ .

1. Muhammad ibn Yahya has narrated from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Sa‘id ibn Janah from a Mawla of abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), once asked for dates and ate it; then said, ‘I have no appetite for it but it is because I just ate fish. He (the Imam) then said, ‘If one goes to sleep for the night and there is fish in his stomach after which he has not made a few dates or honey to follow it the vein of paralysis continues to beat on him until the morning.’”

1285. hadíth Majlisī: مرسل

عِدَّةٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ نُوحِ بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ( صلى الله عليه وآله ) إِذَا أَكَلَ السَّمَكَ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِيهِ وَ أَبْدِلْنَا بِهِ خَيْراً مِنْهُ .

2. A number of our people have narrated from Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah from Nuh ibn Shu’ayb from certain persons of our people who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that the Messenger of Allah, O Allah, grant compensation to Muhammad and his family worthy of their services to Your cause, when eating fish would say, ’O Lord, make it a blessing for us and change it for us with what is better.’”

1286. hadíth Majlisī: ضعيف بسنديه

الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُعَلَّى بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْهَمَذَانِيِّ عَنْ مُعَتِّبٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) أَوْ قَالَ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ قَالَ يَوْماً يَا مُعَتِّبُ اطْلُبْ لَنَا حِيتَاناً طَرِيَّةً فَإِنِّي أُرِيدُ أَنْ أَحْتَجِمَ فَطَلَبْتُهَا ثُمَّ أَتَيْتُهُ بِهَا فَقَالَ لِي يَا مُعَتِّبُ سَكْبِجْ لَنَا شَطْرَهَا وَ اشْوِ لَنَا شَطْرَهَا فَتَغَدَّى مِنْهَا وَ تَعَشَّى أَبُو الْحَسَنِ ( عليه السلام ) .

3. Al-Husayn from Muhammad has narrated from Mu‘alla’ ibn Muhammad from Muhammad ibn Ali al-Hamadaniy from Mu‘attib who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah, or abu al-Hassan, ‘Alayhim al-Salam, once said, ‘O Mu‘attib, order for us fresh fish; I want to apply cupping.’ I ordered fish and brought them. He (the Imam) said to me to cook for him (the Imam) a part of it and roast another part. He (the Imam) had lunch with it and abu al-Hassan had dinner with it.’” Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from (his father) and Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Bandar from his father and Ahmad ibn abu ‘Abd Allah all from Muhammad ibn Ali al-Hamadaniy has narrated a similar Hadith.”

1287. hadíth Majlisī: حسن

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ بُنْدَارَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ وَ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ جَمِيعاً عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الْهَمَذَانِيِّ مِثْلَهُ .عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عُمَيْرٍ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا الْحَسَنِ ( عليه السلام ) يَقُولُ عَلَيْكُمْ بِالسَّمَكِ فَإِنَّكَ إِنْ أَكَلْتَهُ بِغَيْرِ خُبْزٍ أَجْزَأَكَ وَ إِنْ أَكَلْتَهُ بِخُبْزٍ أَمْرَأَكَ .

4. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from his father from Ibn Abi ‘Umayr from Ibrahim ibn ‘Abd al-Hamid who has said the following: I once heard abu al-Hassan (a.s.), saying, ‘You must eat fish; if you eat it without bread it is sufficient; and if you eat with bread it becomes more palatable for you.’”

1288. hadíth Majlisī: ضعيف

عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ هَارُونَ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ مَسْعَدَةَ بْنِ صَدَقَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ الْيَسَعِ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ قَالَ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ ( عليه السلام ) لَا تُدْمِنُوا أَكْلَ السَّمَكِ فَإِنَّهُ يُذِيبُ الْجَسَدَ .

5. Ali ibn Ibrahim has narrated from Harun ibn Muslim from Mas’adah ibn Sadaqah from ibn al-Yasa‘ who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said that ’Amir al-Mu’minin has said, ‘Do not eat fish very often; it melts the body.’”

1289. hadíth Majlisī: مجهول كالصحيح

عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ بُنْدَارَ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ يُونُسَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سِنَانٍ عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ أَكْلُ الْحِيتَانِ يُذِيبُ الْجِسْمَ .

6. Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Bandar has narrated from Muhammad ibn ‘Isa from Yunus from ‘Abd Allah ibn Sinan who has said the following: “Abu ‘Abd Allah (a.s.), has said, ‘Eating fish melts the body.’”

1290. hadíth Majlisī: ضعيف على المشهور

سَهْلُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ حَسَّانَ عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ بَكْرٍ عَنْ أَبِي الْحَسَنِ ( عليه السلام ) قَالَ السَّمَكُ الطَّرِيُّ يُذِيبُ الْجَسَدَ .

7. Sahl ibn Ziyad from Ali ibn Hassan from Musa ibn Bakr who has said the following: “Abu al-Hassan (a.s.), has said, ‘Eating fresh fish melts the body.’”
