The Twenty-Third Assembly, which is Tuesday, two nights into Shawwal, 367 AH.
Al-Husayn b. Ahmad (rh) narrated to us. He said: My father narrated to us. He said: Ibrahim b. Hashim narrated to us from al-Husayn b. Yazid al-Nawfali from Isma`il b. Abi Ziyad al-Sukuni from al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad from his father from his forefathers from `Ali (as). He said: Take to supplication in five places: (1) When reciting the Quran, (2) When the adhan [is called], (3) When rain falls, (4) When two rows meet for martyrdom, and (5) at the call of the oppressed, for it does not have a barrier under the Throne.
Muhammad b. al-Qasim al-Astarabadi (ra) narrated to us. He said: Ahmad b. al-Hasan al-Husayni narrated to us from al-Hasan b. `Ali from his father from Muhammad b. `Ali from his father al-Rida from his father Musa b. Ja`far from his father Ja`far b. Muhammad from his father Muhammad b. `Ali from his father `Ali b. al-Husayn from his father al-Husayn b. `Ali (as). He said: Amir al-Mu’minin (as) said: How many heedless people weave a robe to wear, when it is actually his shroud; and build a house to live in, when it is actually the place of his grave.
It was said to Amir al-Mu’minin (as): What does one do to prepare for death? He said: Performing the obligations, avoiding the forbidden, and being generous – then, it will not matter if he approaches death or if death approaches him. By Allah, it does not matter to Ibn Abi Talib whether he approaches death or if death approaches him.
Amir al-Mu’minin (as) said in one of his sermons: O people! Surely, this world is the Abode of Annihilation, and the Hereafter is the Abode of Permanence, so take from your sojourn what will aid you in your lodging. There is no need to disclose your hidden matters to Him from whom you cannot hide your secrets, so take your hearts out of this world before your body is taken out of it. You were enlivened for this world, but you were created for the Hereafter. Surely, this world is like poison: it is eaten by one who knows not what it is. When a servant dies, the angels say: “What has he brought?”, while the people say: “what has he left behind?” Send virtues before you so that they may be for you, and do not leave anything that may be against you. Surely, the deprived is one who is deprived of the goodness of his wealth, who will be envious of one whose scales become heavy with charity and good actions, through which his residence in Paradise is beautified and his trek on the Path is sweetened.
Ahmad b. Muhammad (rh) narrated to us. He said: My father narrated to us from Muhammad b. `Abd al-Jabbar from Abi Ahmad Muhammad b. Ziyad al-Azdi from Aban b. `Uthman from Thabit b. Dinar from the Master of Worshipers `Ali b. al-Husayn from the Master of Martyrs al-Husayn b. `Ali from the Master of Deputies Amir al-Mu’minin `Ali b. Abi Talib (as). He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: The Imams after me are twelve. You are the first of them, O `Ali. The last of them is the Qa’im, by whose hands Allah will conquer the East of the Earth and its West.
My father (rh) narrated to us. He said: Ahmad b. Idris narrated to us. He said: Ya`qub b. Yazid narrated to us from Muhammad b. Abi `Umayr from Muhammad al-Qubti. He said: al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad (as) said: The people are heedless of what the Messenger of Allah (s) said regarding `Ali b. Abi Talib (as) in the chamber of Umm Ibrahim, just as they are heedless of what he said regarding him on the Day of Ghadir Khumm. The Messenger of Allah (s) was in the chamber of Umm Ibrahim, and his companions were with him, when `Ali (as) came. They did not make way for him. When he saw that they did not make way for him, he said: “O people! These are my Ahl al-Bayt. You trivialize them whilst I am alive and whilst I am among you. Surely, by Allah, when I am away from you, Allah will certainly not be absent from you. Surely, serenity, solace, happiness, and glad tidings are for those who follow `Ali, align with him, and are at peace with him and the deputies from his descendants. It will be my responsibility to bring them into my intercession, for they are my followers, and whoever follows me is surely of me. This is a tradition that has passed through Ibrahim (as), for I am from Ibrahim and Ibrahim is from me. My virtue is his virtue, and his virtue is my virtue – and I am more virtuous than him. The saying of my Lord confirms that, ‘Offspring, one of the other, and Allah is Hearing, Knowing.’ (3:34)” The Messenger of Allah (s) had injured his leg in the chamber of Umm Ibrahim when the people had come to him.

The Twenty-Fourth Assembly, Wednesday, the Fourth of Shawwal, 367 AH.
Abu Ja`far Muhammad b. `Ali b. al-Husayn b. Musa b. Babuwayh al-Qummi (ra) narrated to us. He said: My father (rh) narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Yahya al-`Attar narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Ahmad b. Yahya b. `Imran al-Ash`ari narrated to us from Yusuf b. al-Harith from Muhammad b. Mehran from `Ali b. al-Hasan. He said: `Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us from Mu`ammar from Isma`il b. Mu`awiya from Nafi` from Ibn `Umar. He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: On the Day of Resurrection, the Throne of the Lord of the Worlds will be decorated with all kinds of ornaments. Then, two pulpits of light – each of them one thousand mille passum in height – will be brought forth. One will be placed to the right of the Throne, and the other will be placed to the left of the Throne. Then, al-Hasan and al-Husayn (as) will be brought forth, and al-Hasan will stand on one of them, and al-Husayn will stand on the other. The Lord will decorate His Throne with them just as a woman adorns [herself with] her earrings.
`Ali b. Ahmad b. Musa al-Daqqaq (rh) narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. Abi `Abdullah al-Kufi narrated to us. He said: Musa b. `Imran al-Nakha`i narrated to us from his uncle al-Husayn b. Yazid al-Nawfali from al-Hasan b. `Ali b. Abi Hamza from his father from Sa`id b. Jubayr from Ibn `Abbas. He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) was sitting one day when al-Hasan (as) came. When he saw him, he wept and said: Come to me, my son. He sat him down on his right thigh. Then, al-Husayn (as) came. When he saw him, he wept and said: Come to me, my son. He sat him down on his left thigh. Then, Fatima (sa) came. When he saw her, he wept and said: Come to me, my daughter. He sat her down in front of him. Then, Amir al-Mu’minin (as) came. When he saw him, he wept and said: Come to me, my brother. He sat him down to his right side. So, his companions said to him: O Messenger of Allah! You did not see one of these except that you wept. What is in them that caused this?! So, he (s) said: By He who raised me up as a prophet and selected me above all the people! I and them are the dearest creatures to Allah, and nothing on the face of the Earth is more beloved to me than them. As for `Ali b. Abi Talib, he is my brother and my confidant, the Master of the Order after me, my standard bearer in this world and the Hereafter, and the Master of my Pond and my intercession. He is the Master of every Muslim, the Imam of every believer, and the leader of every pious person. He is my deputy and my vicegerent over my family and my Nation both during my life and after my death. Love of him is love of me, hatred of him is hatred of me. By his allegiance, my Nation is given mercy, and by opposing him, the opponents were cursed. I wept when he came because I remembered my Nation's betrayal of him after me - he will be betrayed until he is unable to take my seat. Allah has made him after me, and his authority will not fall until the side of his head is struck and his beard is soaked by it [with blood] in the best month, the month of Ramadan, in which the Qur'an was revealed as guidance for the people and elucidations of guidance and a criterion. As for my daughter Fatima, she is the Mistress of the Women of the Worlds, from the first to the last. She is a part of me, the light of my eye, the fruit of my heart, and my spirit within me. She is a human houri. Whenever she stands at her prayer-niche before her Lord, her light illuminates for the angels of the heavens, just as the light of the stars illuminate for the people of the Earth; and Allah says to His angels, 'O My angels! Look at My female servant Fatima, the Mistress of My female servants, standing before Me. Her chest shivers out of fear of Me, and she has set her heart to worshiping Me. I bear witness to you that I have made her followers safe from the Fire.' When I saw her, I remembered what would happen to her after me. It is as if I am with her, as disgrace enters her home, and her sanctity is violated, and her right is taken away, and she is prevented from her inheritance, and her side (rib) is broken, and her fetus is miscarried as she calls, “O Muhammada!” and she is not answered. She will call for help, but not be helped. After me, she will always be grieving, distressed, and weeping. In a moment, she will recall the cessation of revelation to her house, and in the next moment, she will recall my absence. She will be lonely when night comes to her and she does not hear my voice reciting the Qur'an in the night prayer. She will see herself become humiliated after being honoured in the days of her father. At that, Allah will give her solace through the angels, and they will call to her what they called to Mary the daughter of `Imran. They will say, “O Fatima! Surely, Allah has chosen you, purified you, and chosen you above the women of the worlds. O Fatima! Devote yourself to your Lord, prostrate, and bow with those who bow.” Then, her pain will begin, and she will become ill, so Allah will send Mary the daughter of `Imran to her, to take care of her in her illness and give her solace. At that, Fatima will say, “O Lord! I have despised life, and I am discontented with the people of this world, so reunite me with my father.” So, Allah will reunite her with me, and she will be the first to follow me from my family. She will come to me grieving, distressed, sorrowful, robbed, and killed. At that, I will say: “May Allah curse those who oppressed her, and punish those who robbed her, and humiliate those who humiliated her, and put he who struck her side and caused her miscarriage in the Fire forever.” At that, the angels will say “Amen.” As for al-Hasan, he is my son and my child. He is from me, the joy of my eye, the light of my heart, and the fruit of my heart. He is the Master of the Youth of Paradise, and the Proof of Allah upon the Nation. His order is my order, and his words are my words. Whomever follows him is of me, and whomever disobeys him is not of me. When I looked at him, I remembered the humiliation he will experience after me. His authority will remain until he is killed with poison in oppression and enmity. At that, the angels will weep over his death, and everything will weep over him, including the birds in the sky and the whales in the sea. Whomever weeps over him will not be blinded on the Day that the eyes will be blinded. Whomever grieves over him will not grieve on the Day that the hearts will grieve. Whomever visits him in his Baqi`, his feet will be firm on the Path on the Day that the feet will falter. As for al-Husayn, he is from me, he is my son and my child. He is the best of the creation after his brother. He is the Imam of the Muslims, the Master of the believers, the vicegerent of the Lord of the Worlds, the helper of those who seek help, the cave of those who seek refuge, the Proof of Allah upon His whole creation, the Master of the Youth of Paradise, and the Gate of Salvation of my Nation. His order is my order, his obedience is my obedience. Whomever follows him is of me, and whomever disobeys him disobeys him is not of me. When I saw him, I remembered what will happen to him after me. It is as if I am with him when he appeals for help by my sanctity and my grave, but he is not helped. So, I will come to him in his dream and order him to take a trip to me, and I will give him glad tidings of martyrdom. So, he will go to the land of his killing and his demise, the land of suffering and calamity and killing and annihilation. A group of Muslims will support him, and they will be from the Masters of the Martyrs of my Nation on the Day of Resurrection. It is as if I am looking at him as is struck with a spear and falls off his horse. He will then be slaughtered as an oppressed ram is slaughtered. Then, the Messenger of Allah (s) wept, and those around him wept, and their voices were raised. Then, he (s) stood, saying: O Allah, I complain to You regarding what will happen to my Ahl al-Bayt after me. Then, he entered his house.
Ahmad b. Harun (ra) narrated to us. He said: Muhammad b. `Abdullah b. Ja`far b. Jami` al-Himyari narrated to us. He said: My father narrated to us from Ahmad b. Muhammad b. Yahya from Muhammad b. Sinan from al-Mufaddal b. `Umar from al-Sadiq Ja`far b. Muhammad from his father from his grandfather (as). One day, al-Husayn b. `Ali b. Abi Talib (as) visited al-Hasan (as). When he saw him, he wept. So, he said to him: What makes you weep, O Aba `Abdillah? He said: I weep over what will happen to you. So, al-Hasan (as) said to him: When poison comes to me, I will be killed by it. However, there is no day like your day, O Aba `Abdillah. Thirty thousand men who claim that they are from the Nation of our grandfather, Muhammad (s), and who disguise [themselves with] the religion of Islam will gather to kill you, shed your blood, desecrate your sanctity, take your offspring and your women captive, and pillage your belongings. At that, damnation will fall on the Umayyads and the sky will rain ashes and blood. Everything will weep for you, even the beasts in the wastelands and the whales in the oceans.
My father (ra) narrated to us. He said: Sa`d b. `Abdullah narrated to us. He said: Ahmad b. Muhammad b. `Isa narrated to us. He said: al-`Abbas b. Ma`ruf narrated to us from `Abdullah b. al-Mughira. He said: Abu Hafs al-`Abdi narrated to us from Abi Harun al-`Abdi from Abi Sa`id al-Khudri. He said: The Messenger of Allah (s) said: When you ask Allah, ask Him for the means to me. So, the Prophet (s) was asked about the means, so he said: It is my rank in Paradise. It consists of one thousand degrees, between each degree of which is the travel distance of one month on a horse – from a degree of jewel, to a degree of aquamarine, to a degree of ruby, to a degree of gold, to a degree of silver. It will be brought forth on the Day of Resurrection and installed with the degrees of the prophets. It will be to the degrees of the prophets as the Moon is to the stars. There will not be a prophet, saint, or martyr on that day except that he says: “Blessed is he to whom these degrees belong.” Then, a call will come from Allah, which will be heard by the prophets and all of creation: “These are the degrees of Muhammad”. I will then proceed, and on that day, I will be wearing a gown of light, with a crown of rulership and a wreath of dignity. `Ali b. Abi Talib will be in front of me, with my banner in his hand, which is the Banner of Praise. On it, it is written: “There is no god but Allah. The successful are those who prevail by Allah”. When we pass by the prophets, they will say: “These are two Angels of Proximity. We do not recognize them, nor have we seen them before.” When we pass by the angels, they will say: “These are two commissioned prophets”, until I ascend the degrees with `Ali following me. Once I reach the highest of its degrees, with `Ali under me by one degree, there will not be a prophet, saint, or martyr that day except that he will say: “Blessed are these two servants. How Allah has blessed them!” Then, a call will be made from the direction of Allah, which will be heard by the prophets, the saints, the martyrs, and the believers: “This is My Beloved, Muhammad, and this is My Friend, `Ali. Blessed is he who loves him, and woe to he who hates him and lies against him.” Then, the Messenger of Allah (s) said: On that day, there will not remain one person who loves you – O `Ali – except that he will be relieved by these words. Their faces will be illuminated, and their hearts will be gladdened. There will not remain one person who opposed you, warred against you, or denied your right except that their faces will be darkened, and they will stomp their feet. Two angels will come to me – one of them will be Ridwan, the treasurer of Paradise, and the other will be Malik, the treasurer of the Fire. Ridwan will come forward and say: “Peace be with you, Ahmad.” I will say: “Peace be with you, angel. Who are you? How beautiful is your face and how sweet is your fragrance!” So, he will say: “I am Ridwan, the treasurer of Paradise, and these are the keys of Paradise. The Lord of Glory has given it to you, so take it, Ahmad.” So, I will say: “I accept that from my Lord. Praise be to Him for what He has ennobled me with. I give it to my brother `Ali b. Abi Talib.” Then, Ridwan will go back, and Malik will come forward and say: “Peace be with you, Ahmad.” So, I will say: “Peace be with you, angel. Who are you? How unpleasant is your face and how adverse is your appearance!” So, he will say: “I am Malik, the treasurer of the Fire, and these are the reins of the Fire. The Lord of Glory has given it to you, so take it, Ahmad.” So, I will say: “I accept that from my Lord. Praise be to Him for what He has ennobled me with. I give it to my brother `Ali b. Abi Talib.” Then, Malik will go back, and `Ali will come forward with the keys of Paradise and the reins of the Fire until he stands at the mouth of Hell, with its sparks flying, its roar amplifying, and its heat intensifying. `Ali will be holding the reins when Hell says to him: “O `Ali! Your light is extinguishing my flames.” So, `Ali will say to it: “Calm down, Hell. Take so-and-so and leave so-and-so. Take this enemy of mine and leave this friend of mine.” On that day, Hell will be more obedient to `Ali than one of your servants will be to his master – if he wants, he can take it right, and if he wants, he can take it left. On that day, Hell will be more obedient to the orders of `Ali than all of creation.
